Bill Anthony, President of Spire Motorsports was joined by their current Cup Series driver Corey LaJoie and NASCAR to announce their 2023 plans in the old Alan Kulwicki building. This was, in his words, the first formal sit down announcement of the growing team. He stated that they look forward to "shocking the world" at least on occasion for years to come. They announced an extensions Corey LaJoie and for Ryan Sparks in Crew Chief roll for LaJoie, as well as adding "Director of Competition" to his roll in the team. They also announced that Ty Dillon will field their second car full time in 2023. They also thanked Landon Cassill for his assistance and performance in the 77 car throughout the 2022 season. Corey LaJoie was given the opportunity to speak as well and he began by thanking everyone in Spire shirts in the back, stating they would be nowhere without them. he said that they are having a lot of fun. Corey also gave shoutout to Cassill as well and welcomed Ty to the team. Ty Dillon has run fairly sub-par in 2022, especially compared to his teammate Erik Jones at Petty GMS with only a single Top-10. Ty stated he was excited to join a growing team at Spire and expressed how thankful he was for the opportunity to get to field the 77 car. Maybe a change of scenery could be a huge and positive change for the younger of the Dillon brothers.

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
