Making her Craftsman Truck Series Debut for TRICON Garage, Toni Breidinger impressed everyone by remaining on the lead lap and scoring P15. Toni's #1 Toyota Tundra marked the first time Victoria Secret has ventured into NASCAR sponsorship.
As a comparison, (TRICON being the former David Gilliland Racing) Hailie Deegan in her Truck debut for the team was P16. Post race she talked about the aero was "so amplified.. so much more apparent" compared to the ARCA car. Toni was asked if she has another race scheduled by Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass to which she responded, "Hopefully, we're working on one." By: Tom Luttermoser

Info: Tom Luttermoser Image: Project 91 Kyle Busch is by far the winningest driver in the Craftsman Truck Series and he is looking to continue his 10 year win streak of adding to his record by 5 in 2023 (the limit due to the Kyle Busch Rule #15 limiting full-time Cup drivers to 5 events in either lower series). Kyle will field his #51 Chevrolet Silverado RST for the first time at his home track of Las Vegas next month with Zariz Transport providing funding for all 5 races.
Busch will field the #51 Zariz Silverado at Las Vegas on March 3, Circuit of the Americas on March 25, Martinsville on April 14, Kansas on May 6 and Pocono on July 22. Busch has won at least 1 Craftsman Truck Series race a year between 2013-2022, the longest streak in Series history. By: Tom Luttermoser Images: Kyle Busch By: Tom Luttermoser Image: MHR
Chase Elliott's last Craftsman Truck Series race was the Bristol Dirt race back in April of 2022. He however has never run a Truck Series race at a superspeedway... Until now that is. Chase will fill in for 17 year old Jake Garcia at the upcoming Craftsman Truck season opener at Daytona International Speedway in the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing #35 Gates Hydraulics Chevrolet Silverado. The pairing comes courtesy of Elliott and MHR's joint sponsor NAPA Auto parts. Elliott and later Garcia, will have help from atop the pit box from 3 year MHR crew chief Mark Hillman. Hailie Deegan is without a doubt the biggest driver in the Craftsman Truck Series, and has been for a couple years now. She won the Most Popular Driver award for the series in 2021 & 2022 for a reason, her fans love her and her sponsors seem to as well. Over her entire ARCA/ NASCAR career Hailie has enjoyed sponsorship from Monster Energy and has seen sponsors such as Pristine Auction and Ford Performance stay consistent as well. Since becoming a Ford Performance development driver, Hailie has seen support from Ford Motor Company's performance arm as well. For 2023, we were one of the first to break that Hailie would be moving over to ThorSport Racing after previous team DGR made the switch from Ford Performance over to TRD. What sponsors would follow or stay had not yet been released. But now we see in her Pre-Daytona Media day photos (seen below) in her IMSA Ford Performance fire suit. Absent from the suit is any sort of sponsorship. Below the Ford logo you can see a blacked out patch covering the Michelin logo. This goes to tell me either sponsors are not official, still working or simply not yet public. Now of course this doesn't mean anything, but it of course gets the speculation rolling. I have reached out to both Monster Energy as well as ThorSport for word on any sort of sponsorship for the young California native. At time of publishing I have not heard back from either. Check back for updates. By: Tom Luttermoser Guide: Red - Unconfirmed Green - New for 2023

20 year old Atlanta, Ga native Rajah Caruth made 4 Truck starts in 2022 for Spire and 7 Xfinity starts for Alpha Prime Racing, scoring a career best 11th place finish at Gateway for Spire. Rajah's place in 2023 wasn't an easy guess, part-time or full-time, Truck or Xfinity... and for whom? With a full announcement not coming until Tuesday Dec. 6th, our friends over at tobychristie.com found out that place, (unofficially) Rajah will take the place of Jack Wood in GMS's #24 Chevrolet Silverado full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series for 2023. He will join Grant Enfinger and Daniel Dye in an expanding GMS Truck lineup. |
Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
