Tuesday's Garage 56 test at Sebring International was the final test of the NASCAR/Hendrick/Goodyear/ IMSA program before the ultra-demanding 24 Hours of Le Mans race this upcoming June 10-11. The #24 NASCAR entry driven by Mike Rockenfeller, Jenson Button and Jimmie Johnson is in the single car "Innovative Class" known as Garage 56. "I feel really good about it" -Jimmie Johnson Even Hendrick Motorsports team owner Rick Hendrick flew into Sebring to be in attendance for the last test to take photos with the 50 crew members in attendance and see the car on track. Driver Jimmie Johnson, one of three 7x NASCAR Cup Series champions will compete in NASCAR's endurance race, the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday May 28th and fly directly to Paris to be present for the day-long driver orientation meeting for the 24hr race at Le Mans the next day.

The 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button will be making his NASCAR Debut at Circuit of the Americas later this month! Jenson Button will field the #15 Rick Ware Racing with support from Stewart-Haas Racing Mobil 1 Mustang in 2 other road courses later in the season as well.
Button has 50 Podium finishes, 15 Victories and 8 Poles to his name in Formula 1 and will also be fielding the #24 Hendrick/NASCAR Garage 56 Le Mons entry with Jimmie Johnson and Mike Rockefeller. Button will join Kimi Raikkonen, Conor Daly and Jordan Taylor (with the possibility of Jimmie Johnson joining them) in the most star studded road course lineup... Probably ever, in the Cup Series. Button will also field the 15 Mustang at the Indy Road Course and the Chicago Street Course. By: Tom Luttermoser |
Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
