TRD & 23XI Racing make a big announcement for the return of the No. 67 Camry in Le Mans “For us, especially the Japanese people, Toyota has been in NASCAR for a while, and I don’t think any other Japanese driver has been in a Toyota racing in the Cup Series. I’m very proud of this opportunity.” - Kamui Kobayashi Le Mans, France - Toyota's Gazoo Racing driver Kamui Kobayashi will compete this weekend in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in Toyota's Hypercar entry. He has 2 World Endurance Championship victories this season, but his big announcement in France comes with the help of TRD USA President David Wilson & 23XI Racing. Kamui's next venture is to join a growing number of "outsiders" getting their NASCAR Cup Series debut in the sport's "Next Gen" car.
With Toyota Genuine Parts on the car, Kobayashi will be the second driver the field 23XI's No. 67 "Star Car" in 2023. He will make his Cup Series debut August 11-13 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard . “Actually, I like this type of racing because you bump each other all the time, and you have to be very sharp on the start, otherwise, you lose all the momentum, and you’re going backwards, and you have no chance,” “I think the way they race is different, but I like it because I think this is something the driver brings instead of the car bringing something."

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
