There is no doubt Shane Van Gisbergen's debut NASCAR win shook the NASCAR world, but it shoot the entire world of motorsports. "I stayed up to watch it... And I've never felt so nervous in my life watching someone else race and trying to win it. So yeah. I was literally screaming in front of my monitor for him to win that." Said Verstappen The 2x Formula 1 Champion told media ahead of the British Grand Prix on Monday that just hours after winning the Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen stayed up to watch his fellow Red Bull driver make his NASCAR debut on the city streets of Chicago, Illinois. "I stayed up to watch it... And I've never felt so nervous in my life watching someone else race and trying to win it. So yeah. I was literally screaming in front of my monitor for him to win that." Said Verstappen "I mean that's really really impressive to jump in the car and you don't know... they are very hard cars to drive. And he just goes in there and absolutely dominates the race." He added, saying he was in awe of the seamless transition from Supercars to NASCAR for Van Gisbergen. Verstappen also said to media, "I know he's a great driver. I know what he's capable of. And I know how good he is in different kinds of disciplines. ANd he is great of course in V8s, that is what he knows. He is great in the rally car as well, and clearly he is great in a NASCAR as well." By: Tom Luttermoser

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
