Dale Earnhardt following the Holly Farms 400 at North Wilkesboro voiced his opinion on intentional contact and NASCAR stepping in. A lot of fans following the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte last weekend had some pretty choice words for Denny Hamlin following him being intentionally right-reared into the wall by Chase Elliott. Hamlin said in his interview with Fox Sports after leaving the infield care center that Elliott needed to be suspended for the next weekend. Well, a large number of fans, especially the old-school/ legacy fans started calling Denny out for this. Calling him a crybaby and comparing him to Dale Earnhardt saying, "Dale would never have done/said that." "Back in the day the drivers were real men, they didn't need NASCAR to step in." Well, here's what Dale would have done. On the White Flag lap of the 1989 Holly Farms 400 at North Wilkesboro, Dale Earnhardt was leading Ricky Rudd across the stripe but on the outside coming into Turn 1. Rudd overdrove his No. 26 into the corner making contact with the 3 of Earnhardt causing both drivers to spin in the middle of 1 & 2. Rusty Wallace would finish ahead of Earnhardt all but sealing the 1989 Winston Cup title for the driver of the No. 27 Pontiac. During the post-race interview, Dale when asked what happened said "I gave him the whole bottom lane and he knocked the shit out of me." "They outa fine the son of a bitch and make him sit out the rest of the year." Just take a look and see for yourself.

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
