Back in August I wrote about 3 Friends Racing out of Deutschland (Germany), announcing that they wanted to field a NASCAR Cup car. It was said that they wanted to attempt at least one race before the end of the 2022 season, that never happened. it does appear however that they are taking a step in the right direction with their Twitter post last night showing that they will be going this weekend to compete in the Limited Late Model Florence at Motor Speedway in South Carolina. The #30 Chevrolet holds a white, grey, yellow and black livery. This scheme is changed compared to their announcement Cup car posted to Twitter and Instagram in August. Fielding their car this weekend is their "development driver" Christopher Tate. Tate is an Active United States Marine Landing Support Specialist from Decatur, Texas who really didn't get his feet into racing until his Jr year in high school. The pairing came about when Christopher was a guest of David Starr at the Coke 600 weekend this year where he met 3F Racing co-owners Paul Wiedeler and Dennis Hirtz. I spoke with Tate who said that they hit it off from that meeting. it has been nearly 3 years since Tate's last venture into a race car and for the last month or so, he and 3FR have been in discussion about this race only finding out it was a go in the last couple weeks. Keep your eyes out soon, my full conversation with Christopher Tate.

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
