Ryan Vargas has been named Director of Team and Driver Development of the first ever German owned NASCAR team, 3F Racing. Vargas is also taking the mantle of the team's Cup Series reserve driver. Ryan Vargas is currently driving in the Craftsman Truck Series for On Point Motorsports where he made his debut at Atlanta in the spring. His most recent entry was the O'Reilly 150 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Ryan's best career finish in the series is P. 8 at Texas earlier this season in only his second start in a Truck. Vargas made his Xfinity Series debut for JD Motorsports at Iowa in 2019. He has made 3 attempts for CHK's Xfinity program earlier this season as well with all 3, unfortunately, ending with a DNQ. Vargas's best finish in the series is 6th at Daytona last year racing for JD Motorsports. The 22-Year-old California native and the upcoming German-owned Cup Series team have been seen working together in the past, Vargas was seen working with 3F Racing's development driver Christopher Tate at Florence Speedway last year. Vargas will run a Late Model for the team sometime this season at Hickory Motor Speedway and Ryan says that his new position will not interfere with his current Truck or Xfinity Duties. Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
