The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Silly Season has been nuts. Major announcements and surprises were everywhere. But the end of NASCAR's diamond anniversary season will mark some pretty notable names potentially joining the free agency list. Ross Chastain: Currently w/ TrackHouse Racing 1 Michael McDowell: Currently w/ Front Row Motorsports 34 Ryan Preece: Currently w/ Stewart-Haas Racing 41 Harrison Burton: Currently w/ Wood Brothers Racing 21 Daniel Suarez: Currently w/ TrackHouse Racing 99 Alex Bowman: Currently w/ Hendrick Motorsports 48 Ty Dillon: Currently w/ Spire Motorsports 77 Denny Hamlin: Currently w/ Joe Gibbs Racing 11 Aric Almirola: Currently w/ Stewart-Haas Racing 10 Corey LaJoie: Currently w/ Spire Motorsports 7 Chase Briscoe: Currently w/ Stewart-Haas Racing 14 Martin Truex Jr: Currently w/ Joe Gibbs Racing 19 Justin Haley: Currently w/ Kaulig Racing 31 Todd Gilliland: Currently w/ Front Row Motorsports 38 Noah Gragson: Currently w/ Legacy Motor Club 42 Potential Open Car #s Some of the drivers listed above will not be returning to their rides. Now, in my opinion on top of the 4, these are the cars that will end up open for 2024...
Stewart-Haas Racing #4 Stewart-Haas Racing #10 Joe Gibbs Racing #19 Spire Motorsports #77 So that could leave 3 Hyper desirable rides open for 2024 if Almirola retires like he wanted to in '22 and Truex Jr hangs it up next. These are 3 massive reasons for drivers like a Corey LaJoie or Harrison Burton to continue to push just that much harder. 3 massive reasons for Xfinity drivers (maybe even Truck drivers) to prove what they've got in 2023 to maybe get that nod from a Cup owner like Tony or Joe to fill their ride. Will SHR or JGR try to steal away Ross Chastain from TrackHouse? Will Front Row drop one of their current drivers for Zane Smith going into 2024? Will Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing add a 3rd car and try to steal Zane away? We all know Brad was beyond impressed with Zane at Gateway this year even saying he was THE top prospect. 2023 hasn't even started and the 2024 Silly Season is already going to be crazy.....

Tom Luttermoser"Being a NASCAR fan since the mid-90s, I've seen my sport go through immense changes, from Earnhardt to Gordon, Gordon to Johnson, Johnson to the "Big 3". Petty's 200 to Busch's 229*. I've seen 2 generations of racers and 4 generations of racecars. I've seen the peak of the sport, I've seen the loss of a legend. I can, in fact say.. This is the greatest time our sport has seen since its golden era and it will do nothing but grow from here. We talk about the Golden Era, The Modern Era. I think, We're entering the NEXT GEN Era."
